What is Included in the Dental Implant Procedure?
Getting a dental implant always begins with a preliminary exam, so your dentist can make sure you are a good candidate for the implant. After that, you can expect the following steps:
- Surgery. Placing the implant into your jaw bone requires a surgical procedure with local anesthesia. This requires only a small insertion hole, which your dental implant dentist will stitch up with self-absorbing sutures. You shouldn’t feel any pain.
- Healing. It takes about four to six months for the dental implant to fully bond with your bone.

I highly recommend Dr Leedy’s office! I had a deep cleaning and some major services. Mai explained the treatment plan in Japanese with insurance eligibility by email so that everything was clear to me. Dental office more like spa services! I walked into the dental office scared, freighted and in pain with a swollen face. Whitney held my hand walked me back and made me comfortable throughout the entire services that was provided. I was provided a comfortable chair, soft music, warm blanket to relax my nerves. Dr Leedy’s was kind, gentle and understanding, and most of all not rushed. He listened to my concerns and put all my worries to rest. Best dentist EVER!

We recently visited Dr. Leedy to get a second opinion for our children (6-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter). My son has a dental phobia due to previous treatment at another dentist’s office. Dr. Leedy and his entire team made them feel deeply relaxed and comfortable throughout the consultation by talking to them and creating a positive environment where we could feel just being there. Dr. Leedy’s second opinion confirmed the first doctor’s diagnosis and treatment plan. We visited the office just to get a second opinion but ended up making an appointment for kids’ treatment. My son, in particular, felt very comfortable in the office, and he said Dr. Leedy’s office is better than the old one. I highly recommend visiting Dr. Leedy, especially if you have a dental phobia.
